Penang Round Island Tour

Pulau Pinang – one of Malaysia’s most-visited corners – is Malaysia’s predominantly-Chinese state that is home to a rich polyethnic culture. Branded a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site, Penang has no shortage of cultural sights and natural scenery; the island is a fusion of forests, lakes and beaches and its streets feature an assortment of colonial era townhouses, temples and tea shops.

The Penang Round Island Tour takes you on a journey to some of the island’s key attractions; start out the day with a visit to the colourful Tropical Spice Garden. Later visit a traditional fishing village before you head on over to the Butterfly Farm; later stop over at the Snake Temple, where a host of slithery creatures are on display. The tour stops every once in while and you’ll get the chance to sample local cuisine at the roadside hawker stalls – be sure to try the asam laksa and char kway teow when you get the chance. The day wraps up with a visit to a pewter factory – watch how this alloy is made into popular souvenirs. Finally visit the Batik Factory – where you can see how this exquisite Malay textile is produced.

Penang City Tour

Penang is a Malaysian island that is often overlooked due to its superstar West Coast cousins. Most Malaysians will laud its gastronomic offerings as well as the retail bargains to be had from street-side vendors.

The ‘Pearl of the Orient’ is also home to more than its fair share of sightseeing attractions. Once colonized by the British, the island is a mixture of Chinese store fronts and British-era structures. The Penang Half-Day Tour takes you on a journey to visit some of its key attractions; start out the day with a visit to Khoo Kongsi –a clan house for ethnic Chinese from the Khoo family which also doubles as a temple.

Next head on over to the Wat Chayamangkalaram Temple – a Thai temple that is home to a 33-metre long reclining Buddha, one of the largest in the world. Later the tour continues on to the Botanical Gardens before a stopover at a pewter factory where you can see how this popular alloy is fashioned into the authentic and popular pewter products.

Penang Night Tour

When the sun goes down, Pulau Pinang – also known as Penang – is a boisterous and active place. The Penang Night Tour is a great way to experience the island’s best-known after-dark attractions; start out the evening with a visit to the ever-popular Gurney Drive. Home to a string of restaurants including the Gurney Drive Hawker Centre, it’s the perfect place to sample authentic Penang cuisine including asam laksa, char kway teow and hokkien mee; the area is arguably Penang’s noisiest avenue when the sun goes down. Next head on over to Penang’s tallest building, the 12-sided geometric shaped KOMTAR Tower.

Later on that night you will be treated to a truly Malaysian cultural affair – a night market; also known as a pasar malam, where you can purchase a plethora of items from souvenirs and apparel to local delicacies and fresh produce. You’ll definitely get more bang for your buck at this shopping haven and it’s the perfect way to wrap up your night – walk the street, snack on titbits and share a smile or two with the ever-friendly merchants.
